Pioneer Foam Mini Paint Roller Refills are manufactured with German quality, high density foam, delivering a very smooth finish.

Foam mini-rollers are an essential part of any decorator’s kit. They were first developed in Germany in the early 1990s as an alternative to using brushes for gloss paintwork, especially in smaller areas. There are many types of foam available and the quality very much depends on the density of the material.

The lower the density of the foam the bigger the spaces created between particles and the bigger these holes are the less smooth the coverage. Low density foams tend to leave a honeycomb effect on the surface being painted. Which is why Pioneer only uses quality high density foam in our mini foam rollers.

To allow for work into the corners of walls and ceilings, Pioneer foam mini-rollers are rounded at one end and straight cut at the other. The internal construction of the refill is with a polypropylene tube and an ABS inner tube which acts as a locking device for any standard stick system mini-frame available on the market.

These mini foam rollers can be used for both indoor and outdoor painting.
